Announcement New Managing Director – SWA Water Engineering Malaysia

Ms. Tamarai Selvi Muthusamy, Managing Director of SWA Water Engineering Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SWAE).

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Ms. Tamarai Selvi Muthusamy to the position of Managing Director of SWA Water Engineering Malaysia – Sdn Bhd (SWAE).

A founding member and key leader at SWA Malaysia, Ms. Tamarai has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth since its inception. Her extensive experience, including a distinguished career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, has equipped her with the skills and knowledge to excel in this new role.

As she steps into her new position, we eagerly anticipate the great things she will accomplish. SWA is fortunate to have such a talented, dedicated, enthusiastic, and creative leader at the forefront of our Malaysian operations. This promotion is a well-deserved recognition of her incredible work ethic and leadership abilities.

SWA Water Malaysia – Secures Major Contract for META Project (Methanol Effluent Treatment Plant)

SWA Water Engineering Malaysia – Sdn Bhd (SWAE), a subsidiary of SWA Water Group, has been awarded a significant contract by PETRONAS CHEMICALS METHANOL LABUAN SDN. BHD. (PCSMB) to undertake the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) of the Methanol Effluent Treatment Allegiance Project (META).

A Milestone Achievement

This RM 200 million contract marks the largest order ever secured by SWA Water Group and solidifies the company’s position as a leading provider of water and wastewater solutions in Malaysia.

Addressing Environmental Concerns

PCSMB, a global leader in methanol production, is committed to sustainable operations and environmental compliance. The META project aims to treat off-spec effluent from PCSMB’s Plant 1 and Plant 2, ensuring that discharged water meets stringent environmental standards set by the Department of Environment (DOE).

Scope of Work

The project encompasses a comprehensive range of activities, including:

  • Installation of a new Methanol Stripping Pre-treatment System
  • Construction of Effluent Collection and Transfer Facilities
  • Implementation of a Biological Treatment System
  • Establishment of Sludge Collection and Dewatering Systems
  • Construction of Final Effluent Check Basins
  • Integration of Electrical and Instrumentation & Control systems
  • Testing, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-Up of the new WWTP facility
