Types of Waste Water Treatment

There are many ways to treat industrial wastewater. The contaminants are reduced or eliminated with high-grade equipment so that the remaining effluents, or sludge, can be safely disposed of.The wastewater is reduced in quantity and made safe to reuse or recycle back into the environment through our waterways.

Here are some of the more common wastewater treatment types. More than one treatment method may be necessary, depending on the type of wastewater and the industry that produced it.

CPI Separators

Corrugated plate interceptor separators (CPI Separators) are machinery that is mostly used is an effluent treatment to separate oil or suspended solids from the water. They are commonly used by oil refining companies and are a highly safe and efficient method of removing oil from water.

In the treatment of oily water, plate packs are used in the CPI separators to improve the economy and size of the separation system.

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a method of treating waste water which involves separating oils, grease and solids. When pollution is caused mostly by suspended or dissolved matter, we recommend the installation of a Dissolved Air Flotation separation system.

DAF systems will thicken the sludge of wastewater and allow for fast and efficient removal of the waste.

Chemical Neutralisation

Chemical neutralization can be used when treating wastewater to balance the excess alkalinity or acidity in the water.

Coagulation

The coagulation process solidifies liquids so that they are more easily removed from the wastewater.

Flocculation

Flocculation enables particles to contact and adhere together to form larger clusters. This makes them easier to remove.

Sedimentation

In the sedimentation water treatment process gravity is used to remove suspended solids from the wastewater.

There is an abundance of industrial wastewater treatments and equipment available to help purify wastewater and benefit the environment and our health. These devices and procedures will also save your company time and resources. In some cases the water can be reused in your business.
